WHAT WE DO

Living Springs MCC is many things to many people, below are how some of our members and friends view the church.

A PLACE OF FRIENDSHIP.

Nothing quite compares to the joy of Christian friendship. This is why we make it a priority to build lasting bonds between the members of our church family - bonds of concern and genuine commitment to one another. Best of all, this circle is ever-widening: we would like to include you and will offer you the contact of one of our pastoral care team.

A PLACE OF LEARNING.

Studying the bible is vital to us, because it instructs intellectually and guides us spiritually. We believe it to be God's inspiration to us, a book that is alive and relevant for life today. Learning its truths is a thrilling adventure.

A PLACE OF ENRICHMENT.

We offer a wealth of opportunities for everyone within the fellowship of our community. There are many tasks and activities that everyone is invited to take part in. We hold midweek meetings on a wide range of subjects from Bible Study to music. Living Springs also offers regular social activities to its friends. We have an active prayer ministry and are involved locally with HIV/Aids and homeless charities. You can be sure that in this range of opportunities there's more than one place where you can be personally enriched.

A PLACE FOR SERVICE.

Just as Jesus Christ came, 'not to be ministered unto, but to minister...' we accept our responsibility to reach out in service to others. This applies both within the church family and out in the wider community. Living Springs members and friends actively share in preaching, leading worship, presiding at communion, welcoming visitors, running and developing the church - all are welcome to take part. As well as regular weekly services, we have special services for World AIDS Day and Pride. We also offer Services of Blessing to members of our wider community.

A PLACE FOR EVERYONE.

We pride ourselves on our growing diversity, and this is being reflected in the worship styles we use. We meet in a venue that is fully accessible and barrier free. We try to use inclusive language - reflecting the intention of God's spirit in being non-sexist, non-racist, and not offensive to disabled people. We believe in the priesthood of all believers - everyone has a ministry and you don't have to be clergy to do God's work!

A PLACE FOR WORSHIP.

The primary reason we meet together is to focus our attention on God in thanks and celebration. Through our worship we receive God's blessing and inspiration, and these occasions can be special times of spiritual encouragement and renewal.
